Default Digitizer Replaced!

Thanks to all the info available I replaced the digitizer on my LCD yesterday. I tried the silver pen fix but still had 1/4 of the screen unresponsive. I ordered the digitizer linked below and it worked great, also so far have not noticed any rainbow affect some mention with low end digitizers. Used a heat gun around the edges of the old digitizer, then separated from LCD using a razor blade. There was plenty of glue left over on all but one edge, I used double sided scotch tape (thin clear stuff) on that edge and everything went back together easily! Highly recommend this over the silver pen, for only an additional $25 over the pen fix get a new digitizer. I received the item within 4 days of ordering...not bad.

Is the ribbon connector the same as OEM on the replacement digitizer? In the picture on the ebay link, the ribbon looks different. Wondering if it's just a simple unplug old ribbon and connect new one?

Just replaced my screen last night that stopped working a week ago. I didnt go through the pen route as it seems like a temporary fix so I decided to order a new screen for a little over 100 and couldn't be happier. Installation took roughly around 1.5 hours following the steps on this thread, thanks for the info guys!

Which screen did you end up getting and how is the quality?? Does the screen have the yellow/rainbowlike effect that some of the other people have reported?

Got it on ebay and shipped from China. Quality was exactly like oem, no yellow or rainbow like effect. Search for the part # "LTA070B511F"

Got a link for the one you got on ebay? The ones I see after searching are all around $200 after shipping.

I need to get my 06 IS350 Nav screen replaced. Are the LTA070B293F and LTA070B511F interchangeble? If not, which part# is the correct one for an '06 IS350?

My nav has been out of commission for a year! Just a FYI. If you bought your car from CarMax and got the maxcare warranty, it covers the nav. My car is currently having a new unit put in. They gave me a 2014 es300h to drive for 2 weeks while they wait for parts to ship in and install. Weak sauce of a car, but great on gas. Might help others who might be wondering like I have. Check your after market warranties. Good luck.

Ok. So I decided to replace the digitizer... more like I "overlayed" a new digitizer on top of the old one. I couldn't get the old digitizer peeled off as it seems like the original digitizer is made of glass and adhered on the screen really well.

Anyhow, it's all in working condition, except the AUTO a/c button is stuck on the lit position!?! Not sure what triggered this. The AUTO function works as it should except for the light that remains on even when AUTO is not engaged. Anyone experience this issue?

To make a long story short, My navi screen also froze on my 2008 IS350 black interior SGM. After months of complaining to Lexus Corporate customer care and visits to Lexus of Pleasanton to verify the navi was broken, they were willing to pay for 70% to have my navigation screen replaced. I was appreciative of the compromise, but It would have cost me roughly $550 out of pocket that I didn't have.

After over a year of procrastinating I finally fixed my navigation screen. FYI, Do yourself a favor and skip the circuit writer pen option. It's WAY WAY easier to replace the digitizer. I tried the circuit writer pen a few months ago, but it didn't work. These digitizers come whole with the glass, so all you have to do is use a razor blade to remove old one. The whole process took me 1 hour just because I was being extra careful. Replacement digitizer fits perfectly, same color as the oem digitizer. Here are some pic. Hopefully it helps other out.

Wow. Looks clean and OE. How were you able to get the old digitizer peeled off? I tried it myself to the point that I was burning my fingers. I was also using a razor but all it did was chip the edges of the glass..
