About 1 hour when I came in to look at the cars and test drive, then I thought about it and called back to have them order my car about a week later, then about another hour when I was picking the car up about 2 weeks after that.

I don't know about any of ya'll, but just the entire "car buying ordeal", whether good or bad just gives me a headache....for every vehicle I ever purchased.....It's gonna be torture on my mind come time to purchase a house.

Roughly about an hour at the dealership (Sewell in Dallas). I negotiated over the phone the previous day, bought a 1-way ticket from Austin the next day.....and my sales guy picked me up at the airport and we headed for the dealership. A 10-minute test drive was enough (the car was CPO, co I was very comfortable), so the rest of the time was taken signing paperwork. After that came the fun 3-hour drive back to Austin!

Looked at the car for three minutes. Then drove home (hour and a half away). The next day i called them and told them to deliver it.

Payed cash.

About a week of emailing and 4 hours at the dealer. Took them few days to get the paperwork done.

Wow, some dealerships are getting away with murder, 8 hours
Always negotiate over the phone, talk to the Internet dept. If they have one.

Total if you count the time to pick it up, I'd say two hours. After a month search I found my car at a dealership about 30mins away, my dealership gave me that juicy check and I went and picked it up myself. Came back and finished papers in my friends finance office while watching the heat game.

Two hour of driving and five ours of negotiation and paperwork. Really worth it though. One of the best purchases and deals I've got.

How is everyone able to get the dealer to take the car(s) to their homes? I have to bend over just for the dealer to show me the car.

I spend about 3 hours test driving and negotiating at a dealer, but couldn't agree on price. Spend an hour at another dealer test drive, and got the car.
