Default Re-dyeing seats.

Has anyone thought about or has re-dye their leather seats? I noticed over time the leather becomes more shiny and nothing really gives it that matte surface appearance anymore. I've own my for 2 years now and thinking about re-dying my driver seat because I want that new seat feeling again. And its obvious that dying is a lot cheaper than a brand new seat. Insights and experiences much appreciated

The surface gets smoother over time. Dyeing will not help that.

My grey interior picked up blue from my jeans. The dealer dyed my seat and it looks perfect. I can't tell the difference and am 100% satisfied.

How much did they charge if you don't mind me asking?

Did your seats feel brand new after the dye? (not smooth, a little on the rough/new leather side)

doesn't re-drying actually only restores / renew the color of the leather?

I would definitely like to know, would the dye cover small/stain marks?

Nothin wrong with being OCD about maintaining your Luxury car. I was also interested in knowing the cost of the service and if its possible to dye it different colors?

I don't think dyeing will change the feel of the seat. You are trippin Colleen! Jus buy a new one baller.

Dealer charged $100. I thought this was more than fair. I would not go anywhere but a delaer. I assume this is the procsss they use to clean up interiors if they need work to be CPO or presented on the pre-owned lot.

My car is 3 years old, has 11k mlles and sits inside 99% of the time. My leather is still in great shape so I can't comment on the texture.

All I know is the dye job was excellent and I felt like I was back in a new car again.

Wait so technically they did dye the seats they cleaned out the blue?

Or was the WHOLE seat re-dyed?

I had my driver's seat redyed--it changed the texture a bit--rougher but only noticeable because I know what was done. However my grey seat now looks completely grey and matches the rest of the car.

The previous owner was a woman who liked to use spray on tan--a bad thing for leather. It nicely covered the stains. I think i paid 80 for both seat bottoms--the other one was also dirty and cleaning/conditioning only helped so much.

How long did the process take? That sounds like what I'm leaning towards doing.
