2008 IS250 headlights not turning on correctly, help!
So I just replaced the HID headlights on my 08' IS250. When I start the car now the headlights will turn on for a half second than shut off. I have to manually turn them on and off about four to five times (each time they turn on for a half second and shut off) until they actually stay lit up. Any idea what would cause this? How can I fix it?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Didn't lock the bulbs in fully? If you keep forcing it on, you might burn the bulbs out. I know on my passenger side, my install was a bit rushed, so I guess I installed it loosely, and didn't secure it in. It worked for a while, but burnt out after a week or so. Got it replaced under warranty, and made sure I had it secured in this time and everything's all good. :P

After I run the car a few times and its warmed up (for instance if I run in the store real quick) when I start the car they turn on fine. Do you think it would be both of them are loose? I was thinking maybe I had done something to pinch a wire. I will try and tighten them up to see if that solves it.

Mine did this when the HID lights were not seated correctly. May want to pull it back apart and double check to make sure they are completely seated in the connector. As always, be careful not to touch the filament.

So I originally had one head light go out, I decided to buy two bulbs and replace them both so that I maintained the same color in each light. When I replaced them both they each were doing the same thing of having to turn them on and off several times until the lights stayed on. I tried adjusting the bulb on the driver side to make sure it was in securely and see if that was the issue but nothing changed. I thought I would give this a try, and swap back in the original bulb that had still worked when I bought the two new HID bulbs (I put the original bulb in the driver side headlight). It is now turning on and staying on perfectly normal but the passenger side bulb (one of the new bulbs) is still taking several attempts of turning the lights on and off until it stays on. I bought the bulbs on Amazon.com, I got two for $75 which I knew was a steal because cost less auto parts quoted me $120 for one bulb. The bulbs say Phillips D4S on them, do you think I was sold some kind of knock off bulbs or is their anyway these could be a faulty pair? Weird! Thanks for the input guys.

Sounds like a possible knock off with the huge price slash for a XenEco. If it were the huge price slash and it saids Ultinon, it is a dead giveaway.
With the orignal price, you could of gotten Philips Ultinon 6000K D4S from Nigel-JDMParts who's doing a group buy sale as we speak. I personally use Ultinon 6000K.

Here is what I bought:
http://www.amazon.com/Philips-D4S-Xe...3754144&sr=8-1
What do you think? It doesn't say Ultinon (I'm not exactly sure what that means) Are knock off's common??? Any way to tell the difference?

I held them close together and couldn't really tell, they look very similar to my original Philips bulbs. They came in a plain white box though that doesn't say Philips on it but the bulbs do.....

If the old bulb works, then the problem are the new bulbs. Looking at your Amazon link, the site never mentioned brand new or new, so possibility you got a pair of used bulbs that happen to be dead. I would contact Amazon or the seller on there about a refund or exchange. If the bulbs are fake Philips, they should have at least lit up despite being fake. Unless they are used fake Philips
