Those will work. A bigger size does make it brighter though and spread the light out more. Choose the 6 inch strip for $6.99. A perfect size would be 12 inches but they skipped it. Go to your local Autozone, Pepboys, or any autoparts store. They have 12" LED strips that are very bright for $15-20.

Blue is a dark color so you want the longest strip that will fit for the most light. Measure how much room you have and go to eBay. Search using "5050 blue strip". I just did and there are close to 1000 auctions. Find strips slightly longer than you need and cut them shorter.

The "5050" refers to the size of the individual lamp - 5cm x 5cm. 5050's are also the brightest but usually there are less of them per foot. You can also get 3528's that usually have more per foot. They are wired in gangs of three so you can cut by multiples of three to shorten them. You can also solder leads to the cut ends for small places like the tops of bins and door handles.

Don't pay any more than $3 per foot and buy strips that are waterproof. The clear coating protects the diodes.
