Default 08 is250 crank no start

2008 is250

- cranks and getting spark
- I have tried removing and also replacing fuel pressure sensor
- new spark plugs
- cleaned MAF
- I have tried holding gas pedal down while starting, no luck
- also waited days in between trying
- I can hear fuel pump in tank turn on
-fuel pump relay is good

I am not sure if I am getting fuel to the engine or not, I can not find a way to check fuel pressure at the engine. I have tried searching forums and having 0 luck. Can anyone please help with how to check fuel pressure or even just if I am getting fuel to the engine.

I am out of ideas except swapping fuel pumps without knowing the pump is bad.

- it was starting and running fine and next day just cranks but won’t fire. Giving me a real headache!

thanks in advance

Crank the engine for 15 seconds then pull a spark plug see if you smell fuel.

no fuel smell, is there a way to diagnose which fuel pump is bad, one in the tank vs the high pressure mounted on the motor. Thanks

fingers crossed for one in the tank $$$

Test for power right at the fuel pump don't guess. There should only be power when you are cranking the engine, or if the engine is running.

Have you tried mashing the brake pedal when starting?

OP if you hear the pump in the tank it has power. That doesn't mean the filter isn't plugged or its not full of water. Do a search on here for OBD port scanners. You can buy a phone app OBD Fusion $10, OBDII Bluetooth Elm 327 $25, plus the Lexus PID pack for fusion and you can read the HPFP $10. I don't think Torque Pro app offers this. Or if you know someone with a scanner, maybe they can drop by?

All of this is less than $50.

Did you check and see if the cold start injector has power? It's on the right side of the black plastic intake manifold. It has two wires. You could test it to see if it has power buy probing it with a DMM or test lamp and try and start the engine. The light should flicker. It won't be on long tho.

You can test for fuel by loosening the banjo bolt on the fuel pipe. Cover with a rag and have a fire extinguisher handy. Do not turn key key on.

PS you are just cracking the fitting loose to see if pressurized fuel is present when the engine is off.
