So looking at the entire scope here, there appear to be many changes for this ECU. I've been told the steering on the '11 F is better - now I'd like to know if the ECU is plug and play, or did they change more stuff to make it not possible? The wife complains about how heavy the F's steering is compared to our 350. It would be nice to be able to just swap boxes and make her happy. Too bad I'd need a Techstream enabled computer to swap these out and test.

I've been meaning to ask someone who owns an F how much of a difference in steering feel there is between Sport and non-Sport mode? How much of a change is there?

(Also, your part number list for the 2010 ISx50 is a bit incorrect. 89650-53020 is for All 06-08 (with or without Sport), 89650-53080/81/82 are all for 09-12 Sport, 09-12 without Sport Package is 89650-53060/61).

Steering feel isn't noticeably different between sport and regular mode. The only really noticeable difference is throttle sensitivity. It is vastly better in sport mode.

I don't have direct access to EPO, so using the internet retailers was the only way to get part numbers, and even that's not very reliable some times. You can't beat EPO for figuring out what goes with what quickly.

Yeah I was never 100% sure because despite the manuals stating that there is a difference in steering assist, they only give a vague graph with no actual units on the axis'. I may have to try an IS F ECU at some point, I'd like a stiffer steering feel, but I will have no control of which mode it will be in, or if it will dislike the fact that it will not be receiving any information from the ECU regarding which mode to be in (Normal or Sport).

As for the difference between 08-10 and 2011, I think I only ever drove an 08 IS F, and it was years ago now, so I can't offer any insight onto what the difference between the 53040 and 53041 ECU's might be. I'd love to know though.

06 and 08 have the same ECU. The ECU didn't change until 2009.

I'm not sure on the compatibility.

Yeah I saw an Used ISF ECU, but they told me it is not compatible with is250, but I doubt they really tested it.

Maybe it is worth a try?

Right, but it won't work correctly unless it is calibrated with a Techstream enabled computer.

Well, after reaching a deal with Alantjai, I ordered the IS F ECU, and it arrived today. I was surprised to find that the bracket on the ECU is different, though not that surprised, considering the battery is different, so it looks like I'll have to transfer the ISx50 brackets over to the IS F ECU.

Lol

That shouldnt be a problem if only the bracket is different... But the plugs should be the same right?

We are curious about your findings After install

No it's not a problem, I swapped over the bracket from the ISx50 ECU to the IS F ECU and installed it, then calibrated it and went for a drive. It's nice, I like it. I mean it's not that much less assist than the Sport ECU I already had, but it is nicer.

Going from an 06 to what I have now would probably be a pretty big jump, but from what I had to the IS F one wasn't a huge difference, but it is definitely noticeable.

I like it.

PS: PM me your address, I'll ship out my 89650-53082 ECU tomorrow.

Jeff

So now I'm burning to know if the revised IS F ECU will plug and play with the original. Some on the F side of the house say the steering on the '11 models is much improved.
