I've never seen WS fluid but wouldn't the color red(assuming it's red) be a tip off it's not oil.
Also the amount in the pan.2.5 qts and 6.5 qts is much different,
You've done oil changes before too.
I don't buy the tale.

I don't understand how one could drain 2.5 quarts, and then think it's okay to add 6.7 quarts to the engine... not to mention transmission fluid is VERY RED.

i dont understand why didnt op check the dipstick.. that is like the basic of any oil change DIY to check the oil level.

Dont know if this is not true or what but something similar happened to my car. Not with oil but in the 30k miles service a lexus tech tried to change transmission and drained the tranny fluid. Our cras have a sealed transmission and you can not put any fluid back on the transmission without dropping it and using the right pump to put fluid back in. My car was running low in tranny fluid and resulted in frying the transmission and getting lexus to replace it. I have no info who did this since I got the car with 33k miles but the service person in the dealer told me it was a technicians fault and my tranny was getting replaced. Meaning if any of you happen to make this mistake tow the car to the nearest dealership it took about 5k miles to start slipping and I got real upset but after getting the new transmission on the car I felt good and just kept it I have put around 30k miles in the car with now issues.
