Default Teflon Coating

I just bought IS250 last week and today I had it teflon coated.
How you guys do your maintenance and anyone got teflon coating?

I had it on my G37 and I just used wax normally for maintenance. I personally think it's a gimmick and didn't really protect my car from any bird poop.

I heard both stories ....
some people said it worked .. some said not required. I got it from dealer for a bargained price and they will be doing that to my car every year for 7 years ..

Considering Teflon is applied at nearly 800 degrees, just how did they do your car?

I bet you all they did was coat the car in some stuff, let it sit for an hour, and then removed it.

This reminds me of the dealer who wanted to "shampoo my engine" for a mere $200!

I use Collinite 845, which is a nearly indestructible wax sealant. it lasts 6-9 months and survives the NE salt and winters easily. 2-3 coats over the summer will make it last 9-12 months.

i use that same wax too. However, I found that it only lasts for 3 months outside. You should reconsider checking by putting a drop of water on your car, i highly doubt it'll last 9 months.

Since it has so many coats, it tends to last longer, but I think you're right. Thanx for the info.
