For example, there is a Marathon storage facility not far from where I live and I see all types of trucks driving out of there. From distribution companies to trucks actually labeled with another gas company's name.

+1 - I too live near a storage/distribution facility and see trucks of all brands coming and going. I just gas up with regular wherever we are that is convenient. As long as the car doesn't knock or ping, I will continue to use regular. The performance difference is barely noticeable.
