I took off all the bolts in the youtube video and from the pictures and it's not coming off or even loose. Can anyone advise me on what I'm doing wrong?

I took off the belt, removed the pulley. Took off the two 14" bolts in front. Removed 12" bracket nut. Detached the wiring harnesses. Did I miss something? Or is there a special method to wiggling it off?

I found that picture not too long ago and removed those bolts as well. I have no clue why it won't come off.

If I remember correctly it was wedged in there pretty tight, you just have to try and grab it and wiggle it out.

I got it off. The alternator was stuck and I had to hammer it off with a mallet for a minute. Took me about 5 hours from start to finish. Would I do this job for anyone else outside of family? Heck no, but it was a good learning experience.

I replaced it with a Duralast from Autozone, $150 after military discount. On the alternator it said made in Taiwan, I guess that's where it was reman. I think that's slightly better than the ones reman in China?

^Yeah, my ALT needed the assistance of a pry bar to initially get it wedged out there. Normal.

Sounds you got everything buttoned up and running. My AutoZone lifetime warrantied has been fine for the past year+.

This is the first time I've had a alternator go out on any vehicle in my family in over 20 years. From Honda's to Toyotas to Benz to Bmw. Is it common for the IS250 alternator to spaz out or did we just get a bad batch? My bros IS250 is a 2008 with 80k miles.

Understand alternator are wear and tear item. They don't last forever and eventually go out on any car. So no set mileage or years if it goes it goes.

You do not have to take out the 12mm bolt on top as it hold the bracket only and the nut from behind alternator is 12mm not 10mm.
Other than that it is real birth giving to take it out of engine bay.
If you ever played tetris you should be able to get it out without breaking or damaging anything.
