is250 AWD oil
I have an 07 is250 AWD. I checked the oil today and my oil seems to be really really black. Also the oil level is between the two holes. So I think it's buring a little oil. Whats wrong with my motor? Any help is appreciated.

My last oil change was at 67,779 and my current odo reading is 70,329. I get it changed at Lexus of fife. The sticker on the windshield says next service due is 11/16/11 or 72,779. On the sticker there's a chevron logo some I'm guessing that's what they used also on there it says oil grade 5W30

Ahh yes, Tacoma at Fife.
Hmm I'm not sure if they are using synthetic oil when they are doing the changes. I heard from other dealerships, they charge extra if they use synthetic.
When I get my oil changed, I bring own oil (AMSOIL I use) so I only pay for the labor and not using their own oil in the process. I go to Lexus of Bellevue and it too also gets the Chevron sticker logo on it. Maybe have them change it but bring your own oil.
You did the 60K interval rite (which was like the major one)?

Also sometimes my engine shakes at complete stops. It doesn't do it frequently just every now and then. I'm not sure if this have something to do with the darkened oil.

That's the carbon build up with the engine shake - There is a big thread about it. The dealership won't really be able to help you with it unless it starts throwing error codes and the car goes into cripple mode when it does that. I complained to Bellevue about it (for the 07 AWD car I had) before but if they can't reproduce it, they cannot assist.

You can't tell anything about oil from its color. In order to judge an oil, you need to send a sample to a lab for an oil analysis. Many here use Blackstone Labs http://www.blackstone-labs.com/ for that service. The best time to do it is when you change your oil, since they can also advise whether it is same to extend the oil change interval. If you are interested in doing that, make sure you order the TBN test, which tell you whether there are sufficient additives are left in the oil.
