Like others have mentioned, the trick to beating a 335i is to wait for the HPFP to fail, leaving the car dead on the side of the road. That's a win!
I drove the 335i prior to buying the IS350. It did drive nice. The speed felt the same to me as the IS350. I just couldn't get past the "slit my wrist from boredom" interior.

I needed a commuter car (I drive about 60K miles per year) and wanted something a bit cheaper since I kill a car in under 3 years... Almost bought an M3 and realized that is like pissing away money with all the miles. I like the IS 350... Loved my 335i. I wanted something good looking with good performance and saved a few bucks. Should have bought a prius :-).

I drive my friend's stock 335i sometimes, and it has more torque with the turbo comes on compare to IS350. But I don't think it's a lot faster. His car was in the shop a few days a month for 4 months straight a little while back (fuel pump, camshaft, solenoid/valve, and something else).

lol what? There's no way IS350 competes with 328i. My brother drives a 328i, and I had driven it a bit. Doesn't drive like it either. Lexus drive is quite different from the BMWs. 328i drives just like a 335i without the extra horse power and turbo.

mwernerps2 have you considered installing F-sport sway bars (front and rear) for your IS350? It'll help to resolve some of the handling disparities of the IS350 (compared to the 335i).

The one I drove didn't have nav. so there was a solid piece of plastic that ran from the instrument cluster to the passenger door while arching away from the driver. There was just no excitement in that cabin. Very minimalist... but without the beauty.

My wife just came out of her 3rd 3 series BMW... She looked at the 335...loved the power and the handling.. interior wasn't rated very high, but what finaly made her decide on the IS350 is the relibilty... too, too many repairs over the years with her BMW's (she still has a stick z3 2.8 'vert for her weekend toy.) But she needed something dead reliable, but still powerful and good looking and handling for her DD. Now for some F-sport parts to sharpen up the handling.... The modded 335 is a beast, but BMW now has so many tricks (read many black boxes) to kill the warrenty with any decent mods on a 2009 and up 335...

You bought a 2009 335i with 147k! People thought I was crazy when I bought a 2006 TL with 142k and sold it with 149k trouble free miles. Let us know any issues that arise.
