Shaking at stop with CEL and VSC lights
I recently started my car from a cold start and the car sounded funny. I thought it was something small so I drove it down the street to see what was happening. When I came to a near stop, the car was shaking and was trying to find the idle and was not able to. The car felt like it was going to just shut off and die with that low RPM drop. The exhaust was sputtering also. I took a look at the exhaust and a lot of condensation was accumulated there. I assume I am running too rich/lean. Then the check engine light and "Check VSC" lights came on.
FYI, the car is a 2006 with approx 87k miles.
Has any had similar issues? If so, what was causing this issue?

Usually that problem is associated with the Carbon Buildup- THere is a long thread on it around here.... Just search -
The latest news is that the only definate fix is new pistons and piston rings... as far as I know the TSB has not been issued yet, however many are on the edge of their seat as this is a fairly common problem.
Maybe run some techron through your gas every 3 or 4 tanks... keeps all the carbon buildup out!
Good Luck and keep your eyes posted for that TSB

Looks like your experiencing the Carbon Build up so many of us have had. I had the same kind of thing, minus the VSC light. Usually check engine light comes on and the car shakes really bad and just like you said..feels like its just about to die.
There is a TSIB to cover this issue, unfortunately your out of the powertrain warranty with 87k miles so the TSIB wont be free....Unless you have some sort of warranty that is still in effect that covers the powertrain. So you can either try and clear up the issue yourself (Seafoam), or pay for them to perform the TSIB (i'll see if i can find the repair bill when they did mine to see how much they billed corporate for it). I also know a couple people have managed to get all or a fraction of the cost covered out of goodwill by calling Lexus corporate and explaining their disappointment with this issue....so might be something else you want to try if you feel up to it.
Here's the TSIB...

This couldn't be something completely out o context but the other day I raced a 335i, won by haf a car btw kid pleas don't try this at home. Turned off the car to enter a baby shower. 2 hours later I drepress pedal, puts start button and to completely surprise the car turned on but struggling.
During the next few days the car would turn off sporadecally. Never while moving. A stop lights, you know you drive a Lexus when you can't even tell itmturned off .
dismantled my intake system, mounted everything back on, reset battery and wahhhla . No check vsc or no rough idles. What makes me wonder is how the intake had been on for about a month and no problems till now
