I wanna do synthetic so it will last 10k on each change. 5 -20 or 30?

i use mobile one and every time the light pops up. i use 5-30 but i guess a new service bulletin came out recomending to use 5-20. and yea 6.5q. i usually got to walmart and get a 5qt jug and 2 1qts. and i go to toyota and get the oil filter and do it myself.

I agree mobile one synthetic is really great oil but expensive.

Generally, 5w-20 or 5w-30 will both be fine. Pretty much any synthetic will be fine to get you 10k oil changes. Depending on the type of driving you do, you may want to change the filter out and top off any lost oil 1/2 between changes. You could potentially go 15k miles by doing so.

I've used both mobil1 0W20 & royal purple 5W30. both are good oils. so u can good wrong. i seem to be getting better mph with rp. i also add Lucas injector cleaner every time i change the oil. i don't recommend changing the oil at 10k. every 5k is ideal. also 6.7qts with filter. gl.

Mobile 1 5W-30 from Walmart
Toyota Filter from Sewell Parts... With CL discount its like 4 bucks... cant beat that, here its 9 from the lexus dealer.

i find whatever synthetic is on sale at slickdeals and use that. change it once a year about 15k miles.

Are you sure about this service bulletin? I asked Lexus and corporate about it, and they said they still recommend 5W-30 or 0W-30 for the 2010 cars and earlier.

For the 2011 cars, they now use 0W-20.
