Bumping this as I'll be buying a rack to use for an upcoming move to a new city and for road trips. The Thule and Yakima racks seem to be pretty popular, which CL vendors carry them? Is there a rack I can buy from Sewell maybe? I'd also need a basket for the rack as well.
Was pretty much end of season for riding with no snow , wife had suv and I was itching to get last non snow ride in so I proceeded to make my bike fit in my is350 trunk.
29er full suspension MTB ---had to remove wheels seat and handlebars--took me 5 mins to place in trunk which is not too bad...but not much room left for luggage if required.
^ Sweet bike! The one time i put mine in the trunk of the IS, it took me forever to brush all the mud off to the point i was contempt. Afterwards bought a roof rack pronto

Nice bike! I had such a good laugh over this post I had to send it to my boyfriend. I ride a 29er and he rides DH. Neither bike will find its way in my trunk. That's what the truck and the Dakine bike pad are for!

Yes agreed much easier to use a truck or SUV ...but I just had that desperate itch---lol...I anticipated the last pre snow ride would be a mess --obvious in second picture picture so I had drop clothes ready for the post muddy mess occasion.
