Hmm, I'm still on the fence on doing this. I want to DIY it but I'm scared I'll mess up things again. I don't want the housing to simply be black. I want to leave the flat part at the bottom chrome, while painting the rest black. Then I want to put a strip of CF over the amber reflector and stick an amber LED strip as the light. I tried doing multiple colors on my engine cover and it came out nasty, paint bled over, over spray. I would pay to have it professionally done but I won't be able to drive for a while since my bumper will be off and no headlights. Plus, I don't expect it to be cheap either and I could get a front lip probably instead.
have you guys experienced any problems with moisture getting into the headlights after opening them up? i wouldnt done this mod yesterday, but im scared to damage the headlights. thats big money
Hey guys, would you mind posting a list of items needed to do this mod? e.g. I want to make sure to buy the right paint being that it gets pretty warm in there[?] I'd like to go black chrome. Would also like to smoke out the amber parts buy not sure how to do that [what is CF?] Thanks hope to hear from you. - Randall

Dont mind the dirty car in the first pic. Sprayed the housings gunmetal while doing my projector retrofit. Then blacked our the fogs and sprayed the reflectors yellow.
Basically any paint will work fine. Just use an adhesion promoter and do light coats. They aren't really exposed so they aren't going to get ruined once installed.
