Mine was stinking pretty bad. If you know what I'm talking about, it smells like a stale damp rag. After I replaced it with the Fram fresh breeze, every was all better.

So i found a seller on e-bay for $9 shipped. Lets see how long this will last.
new one on rleft and ofcourse the old one on the right.
I swear the one on the right was just recently purchased.
Oh well!

It looks to me like the one on the right is the more costly activated charcoal filter, the one on the left is not.

I don't think so, at least not the OEM carbon filter. The OEM carbon filter has a beefier surround on the filter that makes a more air tight seal when installed into the plastic holder.

the one on the right was similar to the left when i first purchased it.

What does the charcoal filter do anyways?
