Default BG44K, what can it do for you?

I keep seeing random occasions where this product and sea foam get vaguely explained. Therefor I ask Some one to explain to me how it's done, and in return I'll do a DIY with pics. According to some BG44K is beneficial to our cars.

Thanks in advanced for the feed back.
If it's a way of time also let me know.

I did BG44K when I first bought my car. I was getting 12.6 MPG the first weeks I had my car when I'm suppose to be getting 20/28. People said to try Seafoam, BG44K, and all that stuff to clean out the fuel system. Seafoam is harder to use. With BG44K, just pour the can into the gas thing, sorry I'm mad school starts tomorrow and forgot what it's called. Next time you refill gas, just pour in the whole can and refill with gas. That's all to it.

BG44K is just suppose to clean the fuel system, like the fuel injectors and combustion. It honestly made no difference on my car so either my fuel system was clean or it didn't work. BG44K is pretty much just like those fuel system/injector cleaners you see at your auto parts store. Seafoam is a bit different to use and I haven't used it so can't help you with that.

SeaFoam you usually put some in the gas tank and then most people have the car suck up the rest through a vacuum hose straight to the motor. It's not difficult to do but requires 2 people, following instructions and some patience. In the end, you actually see the gunk being burnt off (a ton of white smoke coming out of the exhaust for a little bit). When using SeaFoam, usually you change the oil and filter afterwards too.

BG44K is usually just poured into the gas tank. Pour the recommended amount and fill with gas. Most people tend to drive a little more aggressively and get the car up into higher RPM's to maximize the amount of gunk being burned off. I don't think people usually change oil + filter after using BG44K, but it might be a good idea too if you notice the difference.

I've heard people swear by either. Personally, I just use premium fuel from Chevron/Shell only and then stick a bottle of Techron cleaner in the gas tank one tank before its due for an oil change. I honestly don't know if its actually doing much, but i'll see in the long run if it works since the 250 has a carbon build up issue and I got the upper engine cleaning TSIB done earlier this year.

The BG system is much more than simply adding cleaner to your tank. If that is all you do it barely does more than any other injector cleaner.

Its' meant to be used as a two part system, and has become the standard in the maintenance industry for controlling carbon buildup in the newer direct injection engines used today. You will actually find car makers trying to quickly catch up with the BG process with in house brands of their own.

Here is the two part system used on an Audi with Direct injection:

Expect to pay about $200 to have it done properly.
