HIDs and fog light inserts
Hi Everyone,
I am new to this web site and from the Bay Area. I had the car for only a few weeks but started making modifications already. I added some 6K HID, white LED puddle lights and these custom driving lights in the fog light inserts, that I made. These fog light inserts look a lot better at night and are a prototype. I am going to mount single SMD LED chips one by next time instead of the LED strip, so it will look more OEM. The fog light inserts is a work in progress. Glad to be on this site and getting a lot of great ideas from here.

Here is a close up of the fog light insert. I cut the LED strip to the size that fits on the insert and used some really strong 3M double sided tape. Then I ran the wire through bumper, through the holes in back of the insert and connected it to the driving light wires by tapping the wires. I am not completely finished because I am going to wrap it with carbon fiber vinyl to make it look clean.

is the fog light insert like the 2nd Gen GS where there is a clear yellow tube that fits right into the area where the bulb goes? BTW how did you make it. I like the LED's too, pics at night please

I will make a write up this weekend for those that are interested. I wanted some driving lights without looking too rice and this seem to work pretty well. I used flexible LED that can be cut to any length and the LED is not noticeable unless you walk up to the car from a few feet so it is stealthy when the driving lights are not on. I spliced into the driving lights in the headlight housing. These LEDs have resistors on them so I didn't fuse them. Here is the LED I used and can be found online or from an automotive store. The picture is of the car at low light.

Did you see my car driving around the Bay Area or something? I did the exact same thing over a year ago. Here's the thread with more info: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...ing-video.html I've been thinking about mixing it up so maybe we can bounce ideas off of each other.

Haha, no wonder yours looks so similar.
You can check out JavyLSU's car if you haven't already. He added strobes but did it in the front by replacing his turn signals (thus relying on the LED turn signal mirrors for his front-end turn signals). For the rear he drilled into the area next to his reverse light slots.
Where in the Bay are you? I work in SF, live in Dublin.
