Power steering not working
So I start my car at the end of a long day and the dash shows Check VSC, ABS light and the car skidding light. It then won't shift out of park. So I shut it off and restart but that doesn't fix it.
I use the shifter over ride to get the car out of park at which point I realize I have no power steering. This is just great because I'm 60 miles from home and without power steering the car is really really hard to maneuver. It's not like an older car with no power steering, this is way harder.
Also I then notice that the AC nor the fan works. The nav unit said "check air conditioner connection" or something along those lines.
Anyway, I was lucky enough to catch the service department on the phone before they closed so they set me up with a loaner for the night.
I'm thinking it may be a blown fuse since so many things are not working. It's still under warranty so I figured just let them check it out- anyone ever have this issue?

Ya, my dealership called me and said they've never seen this... they've seen something similar where it won't start (and there's plenty of threads about that issue)... but they've never seen this one... I'll repost when they figure it out.

OK, so here's the update - they were able to trace it back to a blown fuse. The fuse that blew was apparently due to my hardwired radar detector which is tapped off of the power line for the mirror.
The strange thing is that I have had this radar detector installed for the past 3-4 years, so somehow the pins shorted out - I do remove my detector when parked, so somehow during that process I managed to short it out.
In hindsight, I should have either put a small inline fuse in place OR have jumped it off the fuse box.
The dealership was kind enough to not charge me all the hours they put in on this, but it still cost me some $$.
My words of wisdom - if you have a hardwired detector, either add a fuse or make sure it's jumped off the fuse box!

I PM'd you on this, but no, they didn't say which fuse.
Figure out what is not working, then look at any fuse related to those items. Fortunately there's not too many fuses, so one option is to pull each one and check it. Sort of a PITA way, but it will work.
