hey guys, wondering if any you had and have a solution for this problem. im running hks hi power exhaust and a vertex rear lip. my car color is starfire pearl and its starting to turn the area where the tips are abit yellow and brown. its the smoke coming out.

is there a solution for this. it will get worst.

Can't help you on that, but those damn HKS are crazy big, that must be the cause.

after polishing it to perfection, opticoat the panel that includes that area

Is it soot/grime that's dirtying the paint to yellow or is the heat from the exhaust changing the color of the paint?

it's either the heat from the exhaust system or the hot exhaust gases that is/are heating the clearcoat and causing the discoloration.

i had the same issue w/ my GFX rear lip and HKS hi-power, and it eventually became a noticeable light brown haze around the exhaust outlet.

unless you can find some way to restore the clearcoat on your vertex rear lip, i'd say it's somewhat permanent and will require a re-spray of your rear lip.

^ if it's hot enough to cause clearcoat to discolor, it will most likely cause the clear bra to bubble and lose its adhesive properties.

have a muffler shop push the exhaust out further so the tip is sticking out a bit past the rear bumper
