I don't know man, KBB said I would get $21000 tops from dealer trade-ins and $24000 from private sale. I contacted multiple dealers cause I wanted to get a BMW 335 instead which are around $22k but they were only valuing my car at $20ish.
the price of your trade in can also vary depending on location...i assume you live in chicago, as you know you see most is250 AWDs in chicago rather than a rwd 250/350, the demand for a rwd ISx50 is not as high here in chicago therefore they will prolly not need it as much as the AWD models, my theory

I think you might be on to something here.. because I bought my RWD down in NC and when I came to NY they gave me a lower value, because AWD is what people want up in the Northern states, snow and some other stuff I didn't care for.
oops I didnt read it was a IS350 my bad.. Def worth more than 21k lol
What then do you think his car is worth on a trade-in? I'm curious because he and I have almost the same car, and if it's worth more than $21k, then my car's value might have actually appreciated since I bought it. I bought mine for $24,500, and if it'd been non-CPO it would have been $23,500, so if you're saying a trade-in value on his would be maybe $22-23k, that would mean I could likely sell mine private party for a little more than I bought it for.
Not that I want to, I'm just surprised used car prices have jumped so much.
I havent really done any mods lately, pretty much done. Im just super impulsive, one day I want a new car, they the next I dont, But Im either buying a supercharger for my ride or buying a new Stang and supercharging it.
Just got a 07 IS350 with 37k. Non ML navigation + luxury package + parking assist + headlamp washers for $28k. Non CPO. FYI. Carmax price. I suspect they'll pay you 23 to 24k.

If those are your only two options, I'd say the Mustang would be a better choice. From what I've read on CL, to supercharge your 350 will cost $5000-7000 and will gain you only 50 hp at most. You'd probably get a lot more bang for your buck out of the Mustang if your aims are toward pure performance.
Not actively selling but I would, Im just to the point with my car that there are no more engine mods i can do short of a SC, and I come from a long line of Stangs and have read nothing but rave reviews about them.. Who knows what Ill do, like i said, it differs from day to day ...
i know that guy doing jonjon83 supercharge about same price installed also but cant tune it.... therefore; i'm still waiting for the tuning available to get SC....

I think this is true as well. I do live on the Southside of Chicago and I rarely ever see an IS350 around other than my neighbor's. Almost every single IS I've seen, 95% of the time here is an AWD. However, it makes me wonder this then, I searched Yahoo! Autos and I see loads of IS250's available but only 10 IS350's within 100 miles of Chicago. Doesn't availability of a car affect it's value? Not sure but just tossing that out.
