Default swapping 18" OEM wheels for non-staggered setup??

Apologies if this has been covered already, I did a quick search and didn't see anything within the first few pages of results.

I have a 2008 IS250 with 18" OEM wheels. Im thinking about trading both front or rear wheels with another lexus owner so all 4 wheels are all the same size. Obvious advantage is that I will be able to rotate tires. Are there any disadvantages to doing this?

I think the speedometer will only be off if the overall diamater is changed drastically. I dont think the width affects it. I might be wrong. =)

Wouldn't a proper alignment and tire pressure (so the tire wears evenly) make rotating the tire pointless?

Never had a problem with the staggered setup... Not sure why you would need to change to a non-staggered one...

It won't work -- at least for the person who trades his front tires for another set of rears. There have been reports here over the years of dealers messing up and rotating the staggered tires. The owners discover the error when the (now too wide) front tires start rubbing.

On top of what Bichon mentioned;

Using a wheel calculator and looking the diagram, it is going to also look a bit funny too.
