I have this annoying robotic noise from behind the dash when I start up the car (even with fan off and all vents closed!). See the recorded video below. The noise appears at 00:12, 00:16, 00:24, 00.32. You might have to turn the volume all way up to hear it (It sounds quite louder than in the video).

At its worst, it gives a series of high noises (every one as loud as in 00:32). Its annoying as hell! What is it???

Ps. The noise only appears at the start up, not under driving.

Subscribed because I swear I've heard this noise before in another car, but can't put my finger on it at the moment.

Hopefully it'll come to the front of my brain as I start thinking about it.

Actually, I remember now.

I think I've heard it on a family member's Land Cruiser. IIRC it came from the fuel door though.....and I would hear it while outside the car, I think for a few minutes after turning off the engine.

For those having a tough time hearing the noise in the video: it sounds almost like a frog.

The volume got lowered when I put it on youtube... Use a head phone and crank the volume to hear the noise clear.

To me the noise comes from behind the instrument cluster and some time from center vents. The short version sounds like a frog, the longer intensive version sounds like an autobot transforming
