When mine were first replaced they put in an older version that didn't even have the eyelashes which my original lights had. I told them about it and they said to see if the new lights bubbled. They did and now they have replaced them again with the latest version. The area that bubbles is now almost a black chrome looking finish looks nice and the leds are whiter in color when on.
Here is the part numbers of the latest.
81145-53674
81185-53674
and the old number.

I think it is pointless to replace them and have them bubble again, replace again and have them bubble again. Lexus is not treating the root cause which is the heat causing the bubbling. They should need to change the material in the area that is bubbling to be more heat resistant or something to cure the cause. Replacing is not a permanent solution.
I still have my original one and probably wait till the very end of the warranty to replace it lol.

Update, just stopped by Lexus today to tell them there's an update to the TSIB dated December 2013 and that my VIN SHOULD Conform to this recall. They ordered the old part but but the new part numbers came in! So apparently Lexus Corp or whatever corrected the order of the old part and just sent me the we ones. I have an appointment to insta) like next Wednesday I'll keep you posted.

Wonder what they're doing with all the old bubbling head lights? Would love to get a set of those on the cheap and just refinish the inside. Blacked out numerous HID headlights and never had a problem with high temp type paint. Any Lexus employees in here know what they're doing with them?

Update: LEXUS changed my headlights today but, noticed right away the eyelash is not as bright as the original. Picture below after changed-out. And they used 81145-53540 and 81185-53540. It was about $2700+ for the parts. I wonder if these are the new part numbers for replacement???

When people say "eyelash", they don't mean the LED strip that lights up. There is something at the top of the housing that's like wavey plastic. The part number seems to be lower than the new parts, so I would double check to make sure it's the newest set (glossy black paint, "eyelash" on top of headlights).
