Only custom mesh grille I'm aware of is the one on DarkDuke's car. He took the stock lower mesh grille and cut it to fit the upper grille area:

Other people have done partially custom stuff, like enrikito wrapping sections of his Kazz grille in CF vinyl:

thanks...looks like some type of inner insert would need to be bought for a custom job to look halfway decent. which doesnt really make it 100% custom.

im hoping to see some photos of black mesh applied directly against the back of the factory outer bezel. methinks it would look ghetto, but hey, guess we'll find out...

You can buy a black mesh one from Mina gallery. I however have the chrome one.

Any fitment issues? Pics of the chrome version on your car?
Did it come with instructions?

The mina grille is an overlay. It did not come with instructions but I did follow the grille removal instructions as posted on this forum. It does have a cut out that fits directly over the existing emblem and fit nicely over it without scratching it up. The top grille curve did not fit 100% flush (even though the cut out was fine) so you may have to bend it a bit with some arm power but it was nothing extreme. I didn't have to cut it or anything like that. I think it maybe have bent a little bit during transport/delivery.

I posted some pics here. The grille looks a lot better on the car I think that than the pictures show. I'll try to take some better photos a little farther away b/c they really don't do it justice as I'm zoomed in too close -- makes it look like braces. These photos give the illusion that it doesn't fit properly on there because of the angle and the chrome bezel is reflecting the grille but trust me that the overlay grille does fit and look clean. The overlay simply has multiple long screws on it that slide in between the stock grille and you just insert washer and nut on them and tighten them up so it's flush...pretty simple. The top grille is a little bit easier than the bottom grille in my opinion.

I've been running my chrome grille for over a year now, including in the harsh winter in Minnesota and the stainless steel does not rust (the cheap washers do though and you can see them through the grille up close). I've had no issues getting off dead bugs either. The quality is solid. Hope this helps.

(I am tempted to buy the black one though too eventually from Mina Gallery.)

Nice. Thanks Taja. Was hoping it wasn't an overlay. I'm looking for a black version of yours but that will allow me to run emblem less in the front.

No problem. Good luck in your search. I'm interested to hear if you find a decent black one too.

For others, here's a couple more pics of the Mina Galley stainless steel chrome overlay grille but they also offer a powder-coated black on their website. I realize an overlay grill isn't everyone's cup of tea but at least you can see it before you buy one on ebay or wherever...hih.
