Default Problems with my bumper

Please see post #5 for an update. Part is correct, my bumper is not however!

Can you show a couple pictures from other angles? Seems weird.

Sewell is a Lexus dealer, they sell original parts, there's no reason they shouldn't fit, since they're the same parts that came on the car. Unless it was ordered incorrectly, or it was mispackaged, or a manufacturing issue.

Strange.

I'm hoping it was just a manufacturing defect. There is only one rear right side bumper reflector for an 09 that you can order and I cross checked the part number all over the web. Everything checked out okay and there is no way you can mis-install the reflector....it will only go in one way and has to sit flush. I was thinking that maybe I received a non-OEM part somehow, seeing as how there are slight differentiations between this reflector and the original one (various numbers on the reflector itself) but who knows. Guess I will just wait and contact Sewell tomorrow.

Has the rear bumper ever been replaced?

UPDATE: Got it figured out this morning. I guess whoever owned the vehicle before me, backed into something hard enough to warp the rear bumper and shatter the reflector. That's why it is fitting about a 1/2" off. Looks like I am going to have to spring for a new bumper cover. Anybody ordered a painted replacement from Sewell? All I need is the cover I assume?

Depending on the damage you should only need a new rear bumper cover.

Damage isn't severe. Just some nicks and scratches. Going to order the cover then today. Can't stand the way the reflector looks at the moment.

Brady - we received your order for the front bumper this morning. I beleive we'll have this ready to ship just after the Holidays.

In the meantime, would you consider changing the subject line of this thread? It would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Darrel

Thanks for having the thread cleaned up. On all of the other vBulletin style forums I am on, you can't edit the title after it is submitted so I didn't even try to fix it. Ya'll have been more than helpful though on the matter and I look forward to getting the bumper in!
