Always saw the same thing in G35 forums, Our cars are 300-310 hp V6's, NOT FAST, quick and fun yes, but not fast. So many average cars are so slow that people are suprised by 0-60 times under 6 seconds but come on, these cars are not "fast".

I guess thats what you consider "fast"..... to most people a consistant low/mid 13 second car is pretty damn fast.. most "average" cars you run into on a daily basis wont touch it... hell a few years ago TT supra's, LS1 camaro's and Cobra mustangs were in the 300hp range and considered "fast",.... How many people drive around a 12 or less second daily driver????? yes you may run into a "fast" car once in a while but will it be as reliable/efficient and comfortable?? doubt it. The car i bought after i sold my Z06 was a 455whp 03 Cobra.. was it fast?? It ran high 11's and had cold A/C..... did i enjoy driving it?? Not nearly as much as i do my IS, but i will tell you my IS would have DESTROYED my cobra from a dig on the street, just cause you have power doesnt mean you can put it down. I have embarassed many mustang GT's in my IS, a lot of it is how well the IS comes out of the hole because of the agressive rear end ratio, and the six speed tranny help it a lot also.... go watch some vids on youtube the IS is a BEAST off the line and it takes a fast car to run it down.... I will say however that its not so great from a roll and on top end.

I've cleaned up a few rude posts, please keep this thread on topic of welcoming our new member.

I'll remind folks if you disagree with someone that's absolutely fine, just be sure to do it in a polite and respectful manner.

Wait till he discovers the "sport" button....

Welcome to Club Lexus, Mike. We just had a fantastic gathering yesterday and it would have been nice to have you join us. Keep an eye out in the NorCal section, we do have lots of meets.

Congrats on your beautiful new car. I have a 350, it will be mine for a year in the next few days. Just yesterday I discovered the sport button. Totally different than the non sport mode....
