Default Add heated/cooled seats?

Is this even possible?

Looking at an IS that - get this... has CLOTH seats...

So if I was to find a crashed IS- and ripped out the seats/switches/wiring harness from switch to seat - is this do-able?

TIA!

As far as I know all 2IS sold in the US had at least base (non vented) leather.

Cloth was available in cars in Canada and other countries though.

Interesting US base models at least have non perforated leather and are prewired for heated seats

Here's what you'll need.

1. Replace seats with heated/vented kind
2. obtain oem heated/vented power switch
3. obtain console panel with the heated/vented switch cut out
4. obtain the the correct AC Amplifier.

Be sure you know what you are getting. I have a 2010 RX350 with Lexus heated seats that do not give enough heat. You may be better off with aftermarket or decide heat is not needed due to the cloth seats.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...K%3AMEWAX%3AIT

The above URL is the car...

Turns out it not even power seats.

So the question is - if I got this car for a good price... could I add heated/cooled power seats for somewhere around $1,000?

If the cars prewired for power seats and the heated/vented option. I don't see why you couldn't get it done for under $1000.00.

My concern is the car has seats in it that never actually came in the car (in the US anyway).

It's also missing a button on the radio... and it's listed as loaded while appearing to have even less features than the absolute base model car sold in the country.

So there's something weird about the vehicle history here.

The supposed history report available in the auction is even more confused since it lists an in-service date of October 2005... then lists a september 2006 manufacture date (which is clearly wrong- in which case how far can you trust the rest of it)

That'd be a bigger concern to me than how cheap I can upgrade the seats.

(which won't be cheap unless he gets luck to find a complete set in perfect shape in a junkyard... because they're very expensive from Lexus)

I was browsing from my phone so I didn't get a chance to check out the actual ebay link. The vehicle history does look kind of weird. I would probably pass on this vehicle.

Sounds like a reconstruction of two wrecked cars to me. Caution is the best advice for this one.

Yeah call or email the seller and understand what's going on with this car before you buy it. This looks like the car equivalent of an eBay iPhone knockoff..
