Now a good time to sell?

Indeed inventories are very tight for asian makes. This is the first time since 2006 Lexus has not offered a regional lease deal in my area for the IS, ES, and RX. All TV ads have been pulled too. Not what Lexus expected, but natural disasters are not something anyone can predict.

Not sure if you're speaking just locally, but I'm in Maryland and have seen more IS350 commercials (the one with the blue IS drifting between black car competitors) in the past 2 weeks than I ever had before. Also, Lexus just dominated the advertising on the US Open last weekend, sponsoring the event and showing commercials every break.
I think the effect of the disaster and supposed supply chain shock are vastly overstated, both by consumers and by Toyota/Lexus. It obviously serves Lexus' purposes, since they can claim that supply is tight and will be for a while, which they'll argue means 1) higher prices for both new and used cars are justified, because supply is constrained, and 2) if you want a Lexus, buy now before they're all gone!
I'm not saying there's no truth to the effect of the disaster on Lexus and its supply of cars. However, I think it's being exaggerated and used for the purposes of justifying higher prices and claims of constrained supply.

Supplies are tight right now. No hype and certainly no exaggeration going on. Most dealers have 1/2 inventory they normally have. It's a bad time to be buying as prices are high and selection is low.
