my preference is 8000k
has a nice blue tint but still bright enough.
If I were looking for more light, I would go with 6000k. pure white without any yellow tint.

My friends and I choose 6000k for both (fogs and low beams) and love it.

6000K lows (looks white to me,OEM HID's looked like crappy halogens)
6000k parking lights
3500k Nokya halogen High beams (my DRL is deactivated but dont use HID for hi beam)
3000k fogs + yellow film =WIN

Looks sick at night...

"Best" is relative to what you're looking for. I personally suggest going with a 4300k HID kit for the low beams and a 3000k HID kit for the fog lights.

I like the look of 4300K extreme Xenon light look, I have H11 4300K from them, the color well match with OEM 4300K, and after about 30-40 hours of use the color shift close to 5000K to me? but I like the pure white look, it look much better than my other 5000K hid that I had but however the extreme xenondepot bulbs that is not water shield like other, my bulbs I can see from the base wire through the bulb glass, that why I have water got in my fog lamp housing, before I found out, I didn't know it cause from the bulbs, I thought my fog lamp got leak? that why water in their? two of my fog lights got water in them after I took every thing out and found out the water came from the wire and go through the bulbs base and in the housing, and I use silicon fill up the bulb base now no more water in the housing
PS: to Steve please check the EXTREME kits bulbs again to see if it is shield?
it might be different now with new design? but the kit I got almost two years now.

Does anyone know why Acura OEM HID headlights look so much less yellow than our stock bulbs? From what I've heard, Acura uses 4300k, but it sure looks a lot whiter to my eyes.

Hi Guys,

ohiois350 - Xtreme HID kit uses different bulbs now. The bulbs are completely sealed.

Bichon - It has to do with the optics of the projector. Acura also uses 4100k-4300k bulbs.

good to know steve
Bichon: the reason the acura HID look white or bluer than lexus because the projectors they design has better lens than Lexus ( except for the new LS 460 and RX350 projectors) and the acura use 81522 4300K and they are color shift after some useage and it become more white instead of yellow like lexus use 81522+ which color not shift in time for better out put. for the look I like Acura and nissan maxima look than our IS and GS, but the new LS460 and Rx350 are nice too

The SC430 and RX330 projectors are actually really good too. I believe they were made by Koito, who also made the S2000 projectors. I forgot who made the IS250/350 projectors, but they're weak because the bulbs are side-mounted in order for the projector to actually fit inside our housing.

The color difference I think you guys are referring is the colorful cutoff lines that many of the Acuras have, as well as beam intensity. It's definitely not because of the bulbs; we have no way of getting that colorful cutoff without modifying the projector itself.

OEM / factory HID headlights are 4300k. If you want the brightest, and most OEM functionality then go with 4300k.
