Hey I have a Key not Detected Problem, my car is 2006 GS 300 i replaced the battery a CR1632 (bought from Toyato as cheaper) and still i get this warning sign, I cannot access the car using the remote control and am using the manual key to lock and open doors.

i start the car by placing the remote by the start button i see the red lights flash on the remote

Does anyone have a solution, does the key fob need reprogramming?

My door handle button doesnt even respond anymore. Any idea's anyone?

Do you have 2nd key fob? Try to open the door with second key fog. Make sure search your car to verify there is no other key fob inside the car (i know even with other key fob inside the car, lock and unlock should work)
Place not working properly key fob inside the car and use the good key fob to do some test. If other key fob working fine (with other key fob inside) you have bad immobilizer. If same thing, you have bad antenna receiver.
Hope it help!!! Please let me know your result so i could talk to my cousin (lexus's tech) to find out the problem

Thanks for the heads up. Ever since I brought my 2nd key fob around my good key stopped working. Now I don't even know which one is good anymore. Regardless my remote does not respond when I push the lock/unlock. I used to be able to walk past my car and my side mirrors would light up or push the button on my door handle to lock my doors. Now I can't do any of that anymore. Thx for ur help. I'm so lost.

Default Key Fob

The point is that if the key fob with a dead battery is held up next to the start button, the car will start. Then, you can put the fob back in your pocket. The shifter does lock but once you start the car, it unlocks.

Why isn't my key fobs working? I changed the batteries twice and the fob still dont work. I push the lock and unlock trunk buttons but no response. I asked a Lexus guy and the said it may be the body ecu.
