Lexus can only deny warranty coverage if they can show that an aftermarket part or a part installed by you caused or contributed to a failure. So if you install an F-Sport sway bar and your nav goes out, they can't deny warranty coverage because they're entirely unrelated. If you install aftermarket HID bulbs that are defective and your ballasts fail, then Lexus could legitimately deny coverage.

Default New IS 250 Owner

Hello to all, it has taken quite some time, but I finally managed to scoop up an IS 250. I searched for nearly a month, and had a 42 cell Excel spreadsheet filled with cars from up to 300 miles from my location.

I was in the market for something a little bit more upscale and smaller than my Maxima. My final 2 choices were the Infiniti G37 and the Lexus IS 250. It was a hard decision, but I found a Lexus that had pretty much everything I wanted for the same price that most of the G37's were being offered for.

I picked up a 2008 Starfire Pearl IS 250 with 31k on the clock. Car has everything except AWD, and Memory seating. I enjoyed the 100 mile ride home in it, and definitely look forward to my ride in the car. I ended up paying $25,6k OTD. I will post pics after I get her washed tomorrow.

Power seat and memory seat

A power seat in an automobile is a front seat which can be adjusted by using a switch or joystick and a set of small electric motors. Most cars with this feature have controls for the driver's seat only, though almost all luxury cars also have power controls for the front passenger seat.

In addition to fore and aft adjustments, power seats can be raised or lowered and tilted to suit the comfort of the driver and/or passenger. Many power seats allow occupants to adjust the seat lumbar or seatback recline, all at the push of a button or flick of a switch.

Some cars also have memory adjustments, which can recall (usually) two different adjustments of the seat by pressing a button, along with settings and adjustment for such conveniences as rearview mirrors.

Cars which do not have this feature have a lever or bar to provide fore and aft adjustments.

Power seats began appearing in automobiles in the late 1940s. Most early seats were fore-aft only, which saved little work. A six-way power seat appeared in the late 1950s. Most power seats in newer cars are either six- or eight-way.

Make sure to check the dealer service history and check both Carfax and Autocheck. There have been quite a few threads recently of people who found accidents on one but not the other.

Also, of course, get a pre-purchase inspection at a Lexus dealer.

I guess noone has purchased an ISX50 lately, since the thread hasn't been updated. I am in the hunt for an 09+ IS350 with Nav, but all the local Houston Dealers are trying to get $35k + for it. Guess I will have to wait a bit, haven't even had my 250 for a year, but I need more power.
