Default 6" Front Woofer Replacement not w/ML Speaker

Today I replaced my front 2 woofers with 2 dayton 6" woofers. Information on the woofers is provided in the below link. My front left woofer was blown, so that's the reason why I replaced them. I know the ML system's speakers are 8 ohm's so I went with a speaker that is made for home stereo systems. It looks cheap, but it sounds great. The mids seem to have less distortion and hit just a little harder, if that makes any sense. The site I bought them from has plenty speakers to choose from. I called them and they recommended the ones I mentioned above. It beats paying $150 for a oem mediocre speaker. Nothing wrong with saving a buck!

My concern would be you're seriously under-powering those speakers... they're calling for 100W RMS.

The front woofers in the ML system are being fed 25W.

Seems likely to lead to clipping and failed speakers unless you've added an aftermarket amp you didn't mention.

^--true that. They may last for a bit though. Underpowering a speaker is worse than slightly overpowered.

Exactly! This is what blows MOST speakers/subs in car audio...most just don't do their homework before purchasing. Hope yours work out well for you though.

Good point folks. Wish me luck then! Hopefully they last a little while for me. So far, so good, though.
