Default 06 IS350 battery put in backwards and boosted and now it wont start. Suggestions??

Unfortunately my first post is asking advice on how to fix my **** up. I bought an 06 is350 this winter so I parked it till the snow melted. Today I stuck in the battery and tried to start it up but my battery was not labeled positive or negative so I ended up putting it in backwards and it wouldn't start, so I continued to boost it and when I saw the cables smoking a few seconds later I knew it was backwards. Now its been turned around and connected properly but wont start. I push the start button and the light is red instead of green, the odometer and a bunch of lights go on but that's about it. Any advice on what I should do??

Thanks

Have you tried putting your foot on the brake and holding down the start button? Or pushing it a second time? Just pushing the start button won't start the car without your foot on the brake.

Check the big fuses to see if blown. I think there are 4 fuse box on the vehicle. Replace them and it should start.

Maybe your keyfob battery is dead. Try holding the key up to the button and see if it turns green.

Not sure if the IS does this, but it could be a blown ECU due to reverse polarity.

That's why there is a specific fuse in the fuse box to prevent this. Check ALL of the high AMP fuses. To find the correct one in the fuse box, check your owners manual...near the rear of the booklet.

Replace fuse and you should be okay...hoping your didn't do damage to your battery or the cables.

To make you feel better, I had done this once on my roommates 89 CRX. Blew the 60 AMP fuse. Replaced it, and it started right up. But unlike you, when it didn't start the first time we didn't keep trying to start it.

Good luck!

Do you feel lucky???

I have seen this happen and it just took a fuse or two and all was fine.

I have also seen it happen and maajor $$ reqired to locate and repair all the faults caused by reverse polarity.

Electronics dont like reverse polarity.

good luck

I do say thanks for the comments on telling me to make sure I'm pressing the break when I try to start it lol. It appears to be a fuse blown in the "type a" slot beside the battery. But the things a ***** to get out. Its not like a normal fuse Ive seen before on my pos cars years ago, its frickin huge. Anyone happen to know a trick?

First, check ALL other fuses.
