Default Sewell 2011 Headlamp Kit & AFS

Did anybody buy and install the Sewell 2011 headlamp kit on a car equipped with AFS? One poster here said he did and his AFS light continuously flashed. I spoke with Sewell and they said nobody they know with the kit has experienced a flashing AFS light, just a steady lit AFS light.

I'm trying to see if anybody else has an experience with the Sewell kit they can share in terms of what their AFS light is doing (lit or flashing).

hahaha that one poster was prolly me. If you want proof, i can post up a video i took of the AFS flashing. Once BOTH lights were changed, it doesnt even give you the option to disable afs via the computer.

Only fix is to remove the light as i did

You need to remove the cluster. screws and clips and it pops off. Then just block or remove the light.

Yes, it was you. A few questions:
1.Did you have your car lowered or do anything else that affects AFS?

2. Did you turn the AFS off via the switch on the lower left part of the dash before the install or was AFS on?

3. Do your high beams still have a low light visible? I'm trying to figure out if my DRLs need to be turned off either before or after the 2011s are installed or if the DRLs can stay activated.

My car has been lowered for awhile, springs than coils. Both installed professionally, none of the AFS sensors were messed with. Never had a problem

AFS was off before install, but still didnt make a difference. You cant lie to the BEAN system is my guess.

DRLS can stay active but you will have both the led strip and the older DRL on at the same time. My DRLS are disabled.

Thanks. Did you disable your DRLs before installing the 2011 lights or after?

Did you need to remove/loosen part of the dash, or does the instrument cluster come out on its own by removing the two screws at the top of the cluster?

Un screw at the top and pop out the clips and the whole instrument cluster pops out. Its Very tight to get out if you dont remove the steering wheel but can be done.
