Headlight differentiation
So I'm trying to source out a passenger headlight through craigslist and I called some shops and asked if they had some. According to him, the xenon/halogen headlights are different in terms of wiring? I thought they were all the same? I told him I had halogen from factory and added aftermarket HID's and he told me it's not going to work for the "xenon" headlight he carries. Really confused right now, can anyone clarify? Also, are the headlights compatible through years 2006-2010?

Not sure, I know they would be different in that the HID with AFS have a move able headlight. The sets are definitely different prices on Sewell.

The factory xenon headlights have a hole in the bottom for the computer (ballast) to feed the wires whereas the factory halogen headlight has that section sealed. The factory xenon has a few extra wires in the connector for AFS/auto-leveling, whereas the factory halogen doesn't. All model year headlights are compatible (with the exception of '11 which require extra work to get the LED strip to work), but you'll need either both halogen or both xenon.

So you're saying you have factory xenon or an HID kit on your factory halogen? What you say wouldn't make sense if you have factory xenon since the bulbs are completely different and wouldn't fit.

Compatible in what regard? Fitment onto the vehicle or bulb fitment? All headlight assemblies will fit the car. And as far as wiring goes, they're all basically plug n play as well (assuming you'd have the bulbs and ballasts for the HID version). AFS and auto leveling won't work though unless you have factory HID.

Not sure if the guy was just making a mistake, but I can tell you for a fact that the headlights themselves will fit onto the car. Did he give you the different part #'s he claims exists?
