"Plasti Dip" for my rims
I blacked out the emblems for my IS 350, and I want to do that for my rims too using Plasti dip, here comes the question, do i really need to use the sand paper to sand my rims first? or can i just clean it with soap and paint it w/ plasti dip w/o sand it? I hv the rims as pic shows, so do u guys think its a good idea?

Interesting but I seriously doubt it will work. If it begins to lift or bubble entire sections will lift off in mass. Wheels unlike emblems are subject to greater heat and retain temps longer. Just get PC.

^ thats because you shouldnt have put it on the inside of the barrel. should have covered it at the bottom so it doesnt go there.
plastidip is an amazing option especially because you can go back to the original look. and lastly DO NOT sand anything down. just clean your rims and shoot from the can.

Plasti-Dip is great stuff. No need to sand or anything. I just used a towel and cleaned my wheels with a little car wash soap and that was it. Just one light coat to tack and two more coats and that's it. I eventually got tired of the matte look and sprayed some black wheel paint over the Plasti-Dip and now it's glossy. I'll post pictures tomorrow cause I'm Plasti-Dipping my friend's wheels.
