swap 18's for 19's?

I just saw the 19's today in the showroom and the parts manager said he'd swap them out for me, but I'd have to pay an extra $1k incl. taxes for the swap.
How is ride quality with 19's? much worse than 18 or 17's?
Anyone experience significant decrease in mpg with bigger wheels?

He said $1k for all 4 rims (the 19" f sport) incl. tires and install, but he's going to take my current 18's and tires.

Hmm, I wonder, My rims have bubbling in the middle area(they are chrome), was just reading a post about this being common and they will swap them out. Wonder if I could get them to put on the 19s instead since they're technically cheaper. Would just have to worry about tires then. Hmm
