I didnt take them off the car they did and I didnt know what the heck I was looking at. Had never seen the lights in Person till that day. I think it was just a mistake on their end. And then again it could be my fault cause he asked me if I wanted the dust covers and I said I'll just use the one off my car cause me wife was rushing me to the store to get her shoes before the sold out lol . And he had to go to the other side of the shop to get them. I bet if I go by the shop they still have it. I had no idea the dust cover had a wire harness on it. Gonna roll by there early in the morning Before I hit up Sewell

So is this thread done? or is someone still working on a way to get it wired for 50% and 100%?
Could we not wire the 100% wire to the DRL light and the 50% to the low beam?
Yes, I am new here, hello.
IS recently got wrecked and now Im doing the mod myself...

From what i understand from all of this with non sewell converted lights. With drl dissabled, cut the green wire going into the led strip and tap it into a 12v power source on with ignition? Right.? Also can be tapped to the big Red wire, am i wrong? Nothing else needs to be done unless you have drl on default

Something like that. Jeff Lange would know better since he did some wiring.
The the costly way but will get it to function exactly the same as the cars with came with factory LED/HID is to get the ECU and and swap it with the stock which is for the non LED/HID cars.

Hi Thinktwice , Is it possible to use your DIY to install 2012 OEM headlights onto pre 2011 model IS ( 2010 and before models ) with stock front bumpers ? Or do we have to fix even the 2012 bumpers.
I recently met with an accident and my front bumpers and headlight's needed to be replaced. My car is fully insured and is a 2010 model car. Now the issue is my dealership says that they can fix the 2012 headlights in my car with all the required connectors etc. But they also insist that the front bumpers , liners , fenders (along with a lot of other things in front) all need to be replaced into the 2012 model.
Now the thing is my Insurance will pay for all the equivalent 2010 OEM parts and I would have to pay only the difference in costs for the 2012 OEM parts. Sad thing is the difference in cost for all those 2012 OEM parts which would fit in the front would set me back by around 6,000 $ according to my dealership.
I just want to know if my dealership is asking me to change everything along with the 2012 headlights just to discourage me from fitting it or is it really necessary to replace the whole front with all the 2012 OEM parts ?
If i only had to change to 2012 OEM headlights , the difference in cost for me would be just 600 $ which I would gladly accept.
Please advice. Sorry to PM you as well as post a reply here. I'm kinda desperate since my car is ready for work at the workshop.

Are you very sure 2012 OEM lights would fit on 2010 bumper. They told me that the 2012 lights were slightly bigger than the 2010 ones and would not fit.
