Thumbs down Seriously Messed Up My Gas Pedal Installing The Sport Pedals!

Hey guys,

So this weekend I got a set of sport pedals for my new 350 after not being able to get the old set on my 250 from the dealer I traded my car to. I did this on my own last time without any issue at all so I had no fear with the new car. Got the dead pedal and the brake on no problem and then got the accelerator off the mounts - piece of cake. I used the video that Sewell posted as reference and put the pedal assembly in a vice and hammered the pin out with the right tools. Well I got it out and thought all was good and then realized that the part where the pin goes in on the metal rod had basically split in half...I'm guessing from me hammering too hard? In any case...I had to order a whole new pedal assembly to the tune of $209.00...I ordered it with the sport pedal on their so I don't even have to mess with it! If anyone wants pictures I can post them. I'll have to sell the accelerator pedal separately from the set I bought. So if anyone needs it PM me or look for it in the classifieds. Overall - a total pain in the ***!!!

Dang man that sucks. Sorry to hear that. I kinda wish my car didn't come with these sport pedals. They are quite slippery when its wet.

Sorry to hear about that...

I agree. I doubt Lexus will honor the warranty since this is not a manufacture defect.

That's part of the reason why I didn't want to deal with the sports pedal mod. It's too much work and money involved.

hey my fellow MRM IS350, I had a real hard time installing mine too. I think I bent the metal part from hammering so hard. that pin was really a PITA. I hope you get yours resolved. good luck.
