my thought exactly. it's the only reason that holding me back from trade in my month old 250 for a 350 is that a redesign is coming up soon.

I personally don't see it coming out this year because they just released the 2011 face-lift, and there has not been any known running prototypes of a new model yet. Plus the competitors haven't released any details on their remodels either. Usually, competitor models (ie: A4, 3series, C-class) get redesigned around the same time. For a car that should be coming out in about half a year, all signs point to 2012 looking the same as 2011. Maybe redesign 2013...

I just spoke with one of the Toyota engineers here at Toyota (proving grounds) and he stated that there is nothing in the works as far as he knows in regards to the 3rd gen IS. Said it would be a minimum of 2 years since they haven't received any information about testing them and the '11 just had a face lift. He said they get them 2 years prior to being released so they have time for modification etc. to original design. He did say that the next gen GS will be out before the IS.
