Considering on trading from 07 IS250 AWD to 07 IS250 RWD
Hi all,
I had been doing some shopping for a while for RWD vehicles and I may have one on my radar and wondering what would be a fair price. I would expect I may take some hit but hoping to try to minimize the effect.
My car is a 07 AWD with AFS HID and Preferred Accessory package with about 32.3K miles. The car of interest is the same year car (same color), but in RWD, Premium Package with Navigation and with about 38.4K miles. The asking price for the RWD is 26K.
My question would be what would I expect the price difference is if I were to do this and what should I negotiate for both the purchasing and trade of the vehicle?

Yeah I do not think I need it anymore since I am not in snow most of the time and could use a RWD with Blizzaks fine for these conditions. Also I test driven a RWD a few months ago and notice the difference in quietness in the ride which I actually liked - had been wondering why my car was being noisy (was not knowledable at the time) because of the AWD system, plus I could get more MPGS since I travel a lot of freeway/city. I also wanted the NAV as well.
The initial reason for the AWD and the limited stuff it came with was not exactly a choice of mine but it was more of a pressure influence by my father (save money).
These are the main reasons I want to switch and also have been holding off on modifying my car in any way besides the lights. It is a bit difficult to find RWD since AWD models are common and I happen to see this one.
Hopeing the dealership does not try to capalize the price on the trade in of my car so just wanted to get pricing ideas of what the two prices I should negociate should be.

I probably would get an earful from family members if I were to get a 350 lol!
Plus since I have a bit of a stipulation (in writing) in how much I can spend since I am investing in a home so until that is settled, I would not look into a more power or newer expensive car for the time being.

Are you sure the RWD version is that much quieter than the AWD? I know they are very different vehicles but I detect no sound level difference between my LS 460 AWD and the RWD version.
Do other IS owners detect the same differences between the two versions?
Or could it just be due to tire or other configuration differences between the two cars you are basing your comparison on?

The AWD would natually have more noise because there is more moving parts. The noise primarily is comming from the transfer case (which is for the AWD), which is located near the driver's right foot.
I manily hear the sound spreadout throughout the front dashboard area and the sound consists of more road and mechanical noise and the engine (especially when pressing on the pedal).
I tested a 2008 IS250 RWD a few months back, the car was noticeably quieter and was surprised the engine was quite soft even when I floored it.

I think they will have to refund you some cash over our AWD. 
. I always wanting to trade for 350 but the model is almost out date so mind as well waiting for next gen. You do what makes you happy. I dont think you have to pay alot more for a rwd 250. Of course dealership gonna make some money of your trade. Just do it. I just filled up my IS250 with $52 the gas is $3.69.Sometime I felt that I'm glad to have a 250.
