Went to Dublin meet last month, came home with a small rock chip.. a week later I have a crack across my whole windshield like a happy smile!! $200 installed for new one is a good or bad price?

that can't be for a Lexus windshield right? Does it have the built in antennae for your fm radio? Weren't others saying that a non-oem windshield made their rain sensing wipers too sensitive?

FM radio antenna is in the rear. The front has 4 types: normal, heated, rain-sensing, heated & rain sensing. All of them cost more than $200 for the glass alone.

This is an aftermarket windshield, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it is definitely not as good as the factory glass. Typically the OEM glass has less distortion and is usually less susceptible to chips/cracking.

For aftermarket, $200 installed is about average, for a factory one it would be a ridiculously good price.

200 seems cheap to me even for aftermarket. my car is at dealer right now getting windshield replaced and front end resprayed. windshield part itself is 1k for oem.

$200 is too cheap, the quality can't be good, and if it is you should take it and run!

I am in the market for a new windshield too. Lexus dealership quoted me 750 including install, the cheapest one I could find from a reputable shop is $400. Mine has rain sensing wipers though.

i use to work for a glass shop before, to be honest with you yes there is cheaper glass out there but aslong as you stay with the brand name such as ppg glass you will notice even on the OEM not sure on the lexus itself under the small print it will show you the actual maker of the glass, i know for sure my titan is carlex glass which also has has the nissan acid etch on it also, and i know for sure honda uses ppg glass also

you can tell the quality of the glass really but moving it back and forth and side to side if you see any distortion

Sorry to hear what happened after the meet. You were so excited you got your wheels on and your new trunk spoiler. Then the leaking tire, and now this?
