Replacing windshield - rain sensing wipers?

Replacing windshield - rain sensing wipers?
I have a *** question, but I couldn't find it with a search so thought I'd ask.
I have a 10 inch crack in my windshield that I just got today on the highway!!! So it looks like I need to replace my windshield.
My question is since I have rain sensing wipers, can I get an after market replacement glass? Or do I need to get Lexus OEM glass?
I think the sensor is in the black box attched to the glass and not the glass itself, but I wanted to make sure.
Also besides the fact the quality probably won't be as good, are there any other reason why I shouldn't get a non OEM glass?

The rain sensing wipers are managed with a gel pack behind the rearview mirror. I had my windshield replaced with non-Lexus glass and would not recommend it. The wipers worked but were much more sensitive. You could knock the windshield with your hand and set off the wipers. Other times they would just go off at random times. They still worked when it rained, but just not as well.

Quote from the dealership is $450 for parts $295 for labour, then tax!!! $800+ after all is said and done.
I think I am going after market unless anyone else on this forum tells me a very good reason not too! I still can't believe no one has replaced with a non-OEM replacement and has had a good experience they can share.
I will let you guys know how it goes. I am likely going to pay Speedy Auto Glass $400 to do the replacement.

I'm resurrecting yet another old thread. I just had my windshield replaced today--had to go with Safelite thru insurance. When the wipers are in AUTO mode, the swipe once when I start the car up as the car goes thru "CHECK" mode. Is this something that will keep happening because of th non-OEM glass? Or will it go back to normal???
