I just wanted to post my experience with the V-LEDS "5000K Pure White Strip Light 6 LEDs". I have purchased quite a few 5000K LEDs in the last couple of years from them and I enjoy their products and great service. However, I've ran into a bit of a problem with their strip LEDs. They are listed as 5000K, but the ones I received were not even close to that temperature color. They are closer to a 6000K. I thought maybe they were mis-labled as I ordered 5000K and that's what the package stated. I contacted V-LEDs about this and they appologized and I went ahead and sent them back (at my expence) and they sent new ones. The ones they sent look the same. While I know you can't always get the exact same color in different types of bulbs, these are not close. I was using these as footwell lights front & rear and I wanted these to match the rest of my 5000K interior LEDs, but the color is too far of a mis-match. You can see in my pics the difference. I will be sending these back also and go with something else. I bring this up as I would not want anyone else running in to this. I wrote a review on their site, but I guess since it wasn't a positive one, they didn't post it. I still will purchase from them in the future, just not the LED strips.

Deceiving? In what way? Read what I wrote and look at the color differances of the LEDs. The pics are pretty acurate. They should be the same temperature color as they advertise, but they are not.

ive only had good exp with vleds so far, but the lights do look more bluish/purplish in the picture rather than 5000k white.

That was my point. I like a nice crisp white color, and these have a light purple hue. Maybe I'm being OCD, but I like things to match.

Yeah the strips do have some purple going on there.

Yup, there's definitely a little bit of purple in there. It's unfortunate they don't match perfectly, but that's just how it is with LEDs. You have to shop around and it's a lot of trial an error.

ive had the same problem not just with vled though. I think it has to do with the led strip, regardless of brand. i've got "white" led strips as my footwell lighting but it actually looks close to purple like your picture shows. i've just dealt with it since it's a pain in the butt to find ones that match with the rest of the interior lights.

I went ahead and purchased some 5000K 194 bulbs and 194 sockets to use instead of the strips. This way I'll know they will all match.

Photos may be deceiving but you have to remember the light in your door is being diffused by the reflective lens whereas the led strip is not being diffused by anything.

The diffuser doesn't change the color. Especially a clear one. Color is color. It would only affect the glare. Again, the photos are not deceiving at all and are dead-on acurate. I'll be installing my 5000K 194's in the next few days and it should look much better.

you should be comparing the light emitted anyway not the color of the actual led...point both of them towards the same surface and see what the emitted colors look like side to side.

That makes no sense. The color is the same no matter where the light is placed or aimed. My point was that I wanted all of my LEDs that are labled 5000K in color to match. The strips don't match and V-LEDS should not label them as such.
