Thinking About Wrapping my car
#32
how the hell do you wrap with pre-cut pieces? to me, that would make things nearly impossible.
spanning gaps, i.e. air dams, is VERY, VERY difficult. i would recommend attempting to do a test-run on the front bumper before you order a cars worth of vinyl, that way you know what you are getting yourself into.
you will also save much time to have a friend help to hold the vinyl taught - it might be worth paying for the friends time.
the grille surround is real tricky too on 09+s. took me three hours and two tries for that.

Without removing anything on the car to apply the vinyl is impossible if u want the car to look good, just look at the mirror and handles, u can cut round that, I tried doing that with a mirror on the passenger side and trust me it turned out bad, I had to re do the entire door :/

OP, if you need to ask all of these questions, then something tells me it may not be worth the time, effort, and money to attempt it - at least yourself.
wrapping an entire car properly is a big procedure that takes accustomed skill. if it was that easy, you would see many more ppl tinting their own windows.

I've wrapped vehicles for 16 years and have used Avery, 3M, and Oracal vinyl. 3M is the most expensive and IMO the best product, but Oracal is catching up quickly. Oracal has cheaper prices than 3M and recently released a new line of glossy vinyls that do not require lamination. If you have any technical questions let me know. As someone else mentioned, the cleanest installation is to remove several components of the car such as the bumpers, lights, & door handles. But in my experience you can do just about anything if you take your time. Sometimes a second person helps if you need a hand on larger applications like the hood and roof. Get yourself a quality heat gun, extension cord, foam squeegee, regular rubber squeegee, exacto knife with plenty of sharp blades, scissors, and a girlfriend who doesn't yell at you because she doesn't understand why you would change the color on a $40,000 car with a sticker
