Probably that car is a GS?

Not totally sure but looks like he had an older set with probably a shorter driver. I share your concern that a newer 460cc driver wouldn't fit

Would you be able to lift up the trunk and take out the spare tire with this? Without removing the sub enclosure or touching it at all?

^Pretty sure you would be able to. It sits off on the side above where the amplifiers are located in the trunk. I don't have the enclosure, but I've had to access my spare tire and jack a few times, and I haven't had to ever remove that plastic cover on the right side.

Great point!

The bag he has is no where near as tall as todays stand bags. Plus, like you said a more modern set with a 460cc drive and a head cover on it. I know for a FACT it won't fit, i've placed clubs in trunks hundreds of times.

I have to stick the bottom end of bag in first where this sub enclosure would be sitting, then put the top of the bag in the opposite side. I guess if you wanted to take the driver/3wood/5wood out of the bag every time, it might fit like the picture in the other thread.

I wonder if my local audio shop (Nortons) can install this with no problem? And I wonder what else they'll try to sell me lol

So basically this will hook up to the preexisting 6-disc cd changer and the rest of tye system correct? Will there be a need for an amp?

This is to upgrade the stock woofer. Something that can handle more power and you would need a larger amp to power it.

So the two smaller 8s in the backseat won't work anymore, or will they still bump too?

Two smaller 8s? Wouldn't that be nice! The stock subwoofer is a little smaller than 7" and is a free air (i.e. it sucks). I think the ideal setup for this 4080/Boxology box is a JL 12w6v2 with a 500/1 or HD750/1 amp. You NEED an amp to power any decent sub. But yes, you can wire it up to your stock system. However, I would suggest a remote level control to adjust the bass, as well as removal of your stock subwoofer so the bass can vent from the trunk into the cabin.

nope this is not needed because the pass thru will rattle so much you gotta keep it open... even closed a sub/amp will rock the car I have my stock amp still in there hooked up.

Damn, almost in the 5 digit post club!

Removing the stock sub was for sound quality reasons (4 professional car audio guys all told me the same thing). Something about the aftermarket sub interfering with the stock one.

So I ordered mine.. I have 2 older 10's that I loved and for the extra I paid .. I had this custom modified for my speakers specifically, and with the powder coated bars to protect them (as my nickname says, I do DJ, so I needed the trunk space and I needed good protection) ..

It's en-route to me now .. I'm really excited to get this installed

^ That's pretty sick they were able to customize it for you like that. You must really like those 2 10's.
