$#!@%*& number 5!!!
For the 5th time, my car has been hit while it's been completely stopped. Let's go through a quick history:
#1. My car is parked in my garage behind my apartment. My neighbor decides that he's going to back his 1983 Mercedes SL (the one with the black rubber "police car" nubs on the bumpers) into my car, leaving a tennis-ball sized dent in my front bumper.
#2. I let my girlfriend drive my car to work, where she parks in front of the dealership she worked at. While it's parked there, this happens:
#3. This was the worst one - I'm completely stopped on the freeway, when a lady in a Honda CR-V plows into me from behind, causing a four-car collision. This one caused over $14,000 damage to my car and almost caused it to be totalled.
#4. I'm at a stop, waiting for traffic to clear so I can exit the underground parking garage at my old office when I feel my car rock forward and back. Did we just have an earthquake? No, a colleague from work bumped me from behind. Thankfully, this one didn't cause any damage.
#5. I'm stopped on MY SIDE of the street, waiting for traffic to clear on a street near my house. An old blue Toyota Corolla is driving right down the middle of the street, and then veers fully into my side of the street before striking the front passenger side of my car. Thankfully it was at a very slow speed and no one was hurt - but it was literally a slow-motion disaster. The way this car drove right into me I thought it might be a teenager texting, but when I look into the car it's a 70+ year old lady. She can't even back her car away from mine - she can't figure it out. So I get in her car, turn the wheel so it "unlocks" from my car, and get out of the car. When she tried to park her car out of the way of traffic, that's when I realized that this lady has ABSOLUTELY NO BUSINESS behind the wheel of a car. First she parks it smack-dab in the middle of the street, then she tries to parallel park on the right side, and winds up parking at about a 20 degree angle to the curb. I was horrified. Add the fact that she was so old that she couldn't remember her phone number, or find her insurance information, and it made for a grand morning. At least I got her driver's license and license plate. This is what she did to my car:
She scratched up the bezel for my JDM fogs, but thankfully she didn't hit the actual fog housings. Could have been worse, for sure. I think I now hold the record for accident threads on CL. I wonder if I can get a loyalty discount at Longo Collision?

Ouch, Javy! Hopefully the repairs aren't too bad. But it'd be hard pressed to see any visible signs of the previous accidents from the last few times I've seen your ride. It'll look great again relatively soon. Sorry, buddy!

That has SERIOUSLY crossed my mind, especially since people seem to think I'm driving a bumper-car!
